Why won't my vinyl decal stick to the surface?

This can happen if the surface isn’t clean or if it’s too cold. Make sure the surface is clean, dry, and free of any grease or dirt. Also, vinyl decals adhere better in warmer conditions, so if it’s too cold, try warming up the surface slightly with a hair dryer.

Small air bubbles can usually be worked out by gently pushing them to the edge of the decal with a credit card or squeegee. If a bubble is too large or stubborn, you can prick it with a fine needle and then smooth it out.

If the decal sticks to the transfer tape, gently lay the tape back down and press over the decal with a squeegee or credit card. Then, try peeling the tape off slowly and at a sharper angle.

Be careful not to pull or stretch the decal during application. Apply it gently and smoothly, and avoid applying force or tension to the material.

Vinyl decals are not designed for repositioning after application. Carefully plan and mark where you want to place the decal before applying it. If you must reposition, do it cautiously as the adhesive might weaken and the decal can tear.

Sometimes the adhesive needs more pressure to bond with the surface. Use a squeegee or credit card to rub over the transfer tape and decal firmly, then try transferring it again.

To remove a decal, gently heat it with a hair dryer to loosen the adhesive. Then, slowly peel it off at an angle. If any adhesive residue remains, you can remove it with a gentle adhesive remover or rubbing alcohol.
